About the VYPD Workshop and Concert
The Victorian Youth Pipes and Drums workshop offers an outstanding opportunity for young pipers and drummers to receive world class-tuition and participate in a finale concert. The concert provides students with performance experience, and the preceding workshop encourages socialization and collaboration between school age pipers and drummers. The participants will learn new skills, and attend classes on subjects not normally taught during their pipes and drums lessons. During the workshop they will get to experience first hand tutoring from international teachers as well as internationally reconised Australian teachers.

The emphasis at the workshop is to inspire students and give them skills and knowledge necessary to be a better band and solo players, regardless of their current skill level.

The VYPD is made possible by generous financial support from the Victorian Pipe Bands Trust Fund and the VHPBA. The VYPB is a non-profit organization that seeks to raise the standards of all Victorian pipers and drummers though quality teaching delivered in a dynamic atmosphere. Through the concert the VYPD aims to develop appreciation and awareness of Scottish music and culture to the broader community.
